I like Blasphemy Day, but I believe that it should definitely be refined. I think it is best served as an open declaration that nothing should be free from criticism and that nothing should be considered "blasphemy" whether it is against a deity or even the government. There should not be a word or words that are so awful that should you utter them, you should be damned.

I prefer to be an open opportunity skeptic. Rather than just focus on Christianity (or Islam), why not challenge all of the superstitious beliefs? I try to make sure that I point out that it is not just belief in one specific god or gods, but the whole realm of unsupported, unscientific beliefs that I challenge.

Why should only religion get singled out for being based in superstition and faith? It shouldn't. Things such as homeopathy, faith healing, astrology, etc. need to be challenged as well.

I think this might be a great idea if more freedom-loving atheists would re-direct their energies towards the real threat - Islam. I think it would be fantastic to see more reasoned-driven blasphemy of this religion. So, have at it, ladies and gents!
