I'm still not convinced that Jeremiah's speaker is the most effective, but you are right, the loud people we had talking were producing ugly sounding clipping on our speaker. It is very noticeable in the video we shot.

I think that the thing that both helps and hurts the type of speaker the preachers use and (even more so) the megaphone is their directionality. Ours is more powerful overall, and it is capable of overwhelming theirs overall in an area, but directly in front of the speakers the more directional speakers can win out, particularly when we have clipping problems, so we need to prevent those in the future. The mic also seems to come out quieter than music does for some reason, but I'm not quite sure how to fix that.

I think you've basically got Jeremiah down except that surprisingly, despite his frequent bouts of verbal diarrhea, he actually talks to us more than most of them are willing to!

He also continues to bring the signs you mentioned, or at least he did fairly recently, so I wouldn't count them out yet. They will probably be making a comeback.

As for Al down the street, I'm not sure what to say. We didn't have him covered, but we did a good job with Jeremiah and from what I heard (and saw from video) it seems like Al hasn't been able to get much of an audience on his own anyway.

Since we've had people out there every week I believe for over a year now, I don't think they know what to do without us anymore. Jeremiah can complain about "the Atheists stealing his crowd", but the Atheists largely *were* his crowd!

One more thing, the guy who often plays guitar in front of Urban Outfitters actually *likes* the preachers and if they're over there he'll generally either wait to start playing or keep it quieter so he doesn't drown them out. I think if he's already there though, they are less willing to set up there.
